  • January 3, 2007 – Frese coaches the Terps to her 100th win as head coach at Maryland
  • December 2, 2006 – Sophomore Marissa Coleman is the first Terrapin in school history to record a triple–double and the 11th in the history of the ACC
  • November 2006 – Returning all five starters from the championship team, Maryland receives its first–ever preseason #1 ranking and remains in that spot for 10 weeks
  • October 2006 – For the first time in the program''s history, five Terps are named Naismith Award preseason candidates. Also for the first time, four Terps are named to the preseason WBCA Wade Watch List
  • April 2006 – Sophomore Crystal Langhorne is the first Terrapin in 17 years to be selected an All–American, earning the honor from the Associated Press and the USBWA
  • April 4, 2006 – Sophomore Laura Harper is named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four and Toliver is named to the All-Tournament team. Kristi Toliver makes a buzzer beater 3-pointer ("the shot") to send the game into overtime
  • April 4, 2006 – Maryland wins its first–ever National Championship, defeating top–seeded Duke, 78–75, in overtime.
  • March 27, 2006 – Frese leads the Terps to a 75–65 overtime win against Utah, putting Maryland in the Final Four for the first time since 1989. Crystal Langhorne is selected the region''s Most Outstanding Player
  • March 2006 – Frese''s recruit, Marissa Coleman, earns ACC''s Rookie of the Year. She is the second–straight Terrapin to receive this honor
